weight bearing question

My husband broke his tibia and fibula in a motorcycle accident. He has had surjury and a rod placed with pins and screws. His orders state that he is "toe touch bearing only". What exactly does that mean? Thanks in advance.

He can touch his toe on the ground for balance only. NO WEIGHT AT ALL!!!
