Is it hard to find a job in Pediatric Orthopaedics?

I've finally decided that I want to work in the Pediatric Orthopaedic field. I have a B.S. in Biology but I don't know if I want to be a NP or PA. I know if I go NP, it will be a longer route b/c I don't have a nursing background (if I become a PA, it'll only take me 2yrs)...but I hear NPs, compared to PAs, have more autonomy? I've yet to be able to shadow either so I have to use forums for information...for now.

I know this is a nursing forum, and I'm not trying to start a PA vs NP war; I'm just trying to figure out which field will have more job opportunities (PA or NP) if my my main goal is to work in the Pediatric Orthopedic field? Also, feel free to explain your answer; the more info, the better.

Thanks a bunch...

Not sure I can help...But...if you want to get into pedi ortho, try seeing what there is at Shriners. They have an excellent reputation and there are several locations around the country.
Good luck!
