OHSU ABSN 2013 Applicants

I didn't see a thread.....although it is quite early yet for some to be thinking about the upcoming application session. I am a senior at Marylhurst/PCC, will be graduating Spring 2013 and applying to OHSU, Duke, and John Hopkins this Fall.

Anyone current students that have advice? Anyone who just applied have any tips for the application? Anyone else applying?

Hello Hello! I just stumbled across this thread! I also applied to the Accelerated BSN program for this summer. It's nice to know that there are others out there in the same boat! I hate the waiting game, pretty much all the schools I applied to have at least an 8 week waiting period, it makes me so nervous :-( I'm keeping my fingers, toes, legs... (whatever it takes) crossed!

has anyone seen their transcripts show up as received online yet? I keep checking my account and it still shows they weren't received.

Mine are showing as received. I ordered them to be sent to OHSU in October though...

thanks for the replies about transcripts. I turned mine in January 3rd, so maybe they're just processing them in the order received. :)

I don't think you should worry about your GPA, especially if your masters GPA is much improved. I think that just shows growth and an ability to set and achieve goals. I also know that last year someone with a 3.6 got in, so even though the average GPA of accepted students is ~3.9 that doesn't mean you're out of the race if you don't have a GPA that high.

I checked online today and they have checked in all my transcripts and application items-- YAY!!

Where else is everyone applying? Anyone looking at out of state programs?

im already from out of state (Washington!) but im also in the process of applying to Linfield's ABSN program.. Loyola in Chicago.. 2 schools in FL.. on the fence about one in NV.. applied to an in-state program (WSU, but it's not accelerated).. im ready to move out of WA so i am excited to be accepted to any of these schools! :sarcastic:

I am applying to Linfield, U of P, PCC, CCC, Mt. Hood, and both programs (3 year and ABSN). I thought applying out of state, but with a little one and our family being here, I will hold off and if I don't get in any where this year then I will.

When I looked out of state I looked at U of W, John Hopkins, Duke, and Columbia- also a school in Mass. but I cannot recall the name.

i applied to Jacksonville Univ and University of N. Florida (both in Jacksonville).. what FL school did you apply to? i just found another program in southern cal that i am on the fence on as well.. it's getting to be really expensive to just apply to all these programs so i need to cut myself off soon and just let fate happen.

I just checked my applicationa nd my transcripts are still not checked off online :-( ...while I know they were received (certified mail receipt) it will be nice once I can see them all checked off on line as well.

On another note how is classes going for everyone? We just had our first test in A&P for this term and I have a genetics project that is coming due very soon :-)

Mine have also not been checked off online-- but I also know they were received through certified mail. But, I guess since we don't find out until April they're not in too much of a hurry just yet!

I also am in the second half of A&P this semester-- currently studying for a lab test (special senses) and have the first lecture exam (special senses + endocrine system) next week. What other classes are you guys taking this semester?
