CNA moving to Ashland. Questions!

I am moving to Ashland, OR next month. I'm just looking for some basic advice... I feel a little lost!

Where are your favorite places to work? Where should I avoid? etc...

Also I was wondering if someone could clue me in on the best ways to apply for jobs? Most of the nursing home and assisted living websites in the area don't have job listings or online applications. How do you find out about job openings?
