Is this true about Linfield?

by tofutti

I've read here, and heard from others, that Linfield has more of a community health emphasis. And that their graduates get shortchanged on hospital clinical time, leaving them feeling unprepared.

Everyone who goes there seems to love it so I have a hard time figuring this out. But I'd like to know before I apply there.

Anyone?

Ooh this was posted awhile ago, maybe you are still interested. Yes there is a focus on community health. I did not feel shortchanged on acute care hospital time, nor do I feel unprepared for my hospital staff nurse job. Our last semester is basically a full time preceptorship in our area of choice. One thing with Linfield, if you do not choose ICU/CCU as your preceptorship area, you will not get any ICU experience.

Didn't feel short changed, however I also didn't like the community health portions of the education. Not interested at all.

another thing is you have to choose either a peds or labor/del rotation, you can't do both.
