Transfer Schools

by Yoshi24

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows of any schools in the Portland area (2 year schools) that allow for transfer students. I'm currently in my 1st semester of nursing school (RN program at a CC in Nevada) and want to transfer to a Portland school. I know PCC does not allow transfers because I called and asked. I am hoping to transfer to one of the more reputable 2 year schools - one that's been around for a while. But it looks like Portland might not be an option for me. Something about the OCNE stuff not being transferable...any ideas? Thanks Also I'm an aid here in Nevada (agency) and I was wondering too if it's hard to find aid work in portland? I know times are tuff now...and I know portland is one of those places where it's often hard to find a job even in good times...but its such an awesome city. I really want to graduate from an Oregon nursing school.

thx for any advice
Yosh

try Mt Hood College. Yes, you can tranfer your CNA license to portland all you have to do is email oregon board of nursing and look up cna tranfers.I moved from calif to Colorado, Oregon and worked in all three states. We had lots of jobs here as long as you are in good standing

Most of the CC in Oregon are going to OCNE, you might try looking at the BON website under education to see which schools are not a part of OCNE and then see if you can transfer there. OCNE was created so students could transfer, but you would have to be already attending another OCNE school to be able to transfer.

As for the CNA, you should be able to transfer that and jobs for CNAs are very easy to come by
