Top hospitals in the "Gorge" area????


Hi all, I'm thinking of moving up to the Dalles, Hood River area, maybe even across the river in Goldendale, WA. Anyone live in that general area? Any opinions on top hospitals to work for? I do ER only. Which hospitals pay the best? I've been a nurse since '96 so I do have a bit of experience. Thanks!

Mid Columbia Medical Center (MCMC) in The Dalles OR hands down. It's an awesome facility, the regional medical center for the gorge. Do some research on the planetree philosophy of healing. It was started in one unit of one hospital in California. MCMC was the first facility in the nation to implement the philosophy hospital wide. I worked there for 10 years and still miss it.

Thanks for the input...I was also interested in the Gorge area of Oregon...hope to move that way in the near future.
