New Grad ICU Internship: Know anything about Salem Hospital's Program? Read on.....

I also have an interview for a new grad internship at Salem Hospital, mine is for the L&D internship. I haven't met anyone who has any experience or knowledge about Salem Hospital but like you, I would love to have a bit more info. before my interview. If you happen to find anything out, please pass on the information and I will do likewise.

I just would like to know how you are doing at Salem Hospital? I know your post is last year and wondering how you did in the interview and just would love an insight or even advice on the hospital. I have applied for the RN internship Program and have an interview coming up.I am told there will be 4-5 nursing managers during the interview so I am crazy nervous!!!Do you like the hospital? Can you tell me good/bad points? I'd appreciate any info /advice you can give me! Thanx so much!

Hey luvmom, how'd your interview go? Did you accept a position? I'm planning on flying up there in March to interview, but I'm kind of torn on what floors I want to apply to. Which did you apply to? Have you visited the hospital? I'm from out of state and won't even be setting foot in the place until March. Any help would be great! (maybe you haven't had your interview yet. I have several friends from nursing school that started at Salem as new grads... One year later, and they are all still there... They have enjoyed the experience, and have been treated very well. The only downside is the commute from Portland...

my interview is this week...live in the wilsonville area..How is the commute from here to salem??? It may take an hour.I am applying for the RN internship programhas anyone been thru it? ...thank you for the positive reply regarding new grads interning in salem and still working there a year later. That tells me a lot. It must be a good learning hospital ..that's what I'm looking for..any other opinions I'd appreciate!!!

I would love to hear your input on the Rn internship! I have an interview on Monday and I am getting so paranoid already. I will be interviewed by 4 nursing managers. Can you help me out and tell me if the interviewing process is difficult? Do they ask basically the same type of questions?...weaknesses, strengths, etc? What should I mainly focus on or brush up on? As you can tell I am sooo anxious about this. I'm more nervous with the interview than the actual program itself! How long is the program? And how are the staff in Salem? Would love some advice!!!
