Looking for info about Sacred Heart

Hi other Oregon Nurses! I presently work at a small hospital on the coast and have been here for more than a year. I have 29 years RN experience, the last 6 on telemetry units. My first love is cardiology.....and find the tele unit here lacking cardiology. I have worked both medical and surgical and am wondering if my opportunity is at Sacred Heart. I want to find a place that will value my experience, keep me challenged and provide me a community where "old hippies" are welcome.

Thanks for your assistance. Peace

Sacred Heart Medical Center is not in Oregon, but in Washington (Spokane). Here's the website: http://www.shmc.org/

SHMC is Eugene Oregon has a Progressive Cardiac Unit that has been listed as one of the top 100 in the USA. It is a step-down unit. Their CSU (cardiac surgical unit) is a really great place to be...or at least it was. I worked there as a CNA 4 years ago. Now I am LPN in Med/Geri unit. But, from those that I talk to that work there...it is still a top notch Cardiac unit. If you love Cardiac....and don't want to live in the BIG city of Portland...then this hospital is worth checking out.

I used to work at Scared Heart, as we called it. Not as an RN though.

I don't know anything about their cardio units but it was certainly a great place to work. And you'll be in hippie heaven! Eugene is such a nice city.

Welcome 'old hippie' I'm one too, and work for Sacred Heart in Eugene. I absolutely love the hospital, my unit, my co-workers and manager, and can't say enough good things about the hospital.

Ya think I'm biased? May be, but I honestly do recommend the hospital. Don't know a blessed thing about the telemetry unit, but give it a try. Why not?

Eugene is always wanting more nurses. Sacred Heart is an excellent place to work. We also have another hospital called Riverbend that is under the name of Peace Health.
