Ashland/Medford area hospitals?

by dreavt

Hi Oregon folks!

I live in Vermont and am considering relocating, with my partner and daughter, to Ashland OR, in search of a similar culture, but a milder climate, more diversity, etc. I'm a new grad RN (associate's degree), a couple of months into my first job on a hem/onc unit at a teaching hospital w/ an NCI-designated cancer center, which I love. The very earliest we'd move would be next fall.

Any dirt/insight/thoughts on the hospitals in the Medford/Ashland area? It's important to me to stay in oncology -- from web browsing, it looks like Rogue Valley and Providence both have cancer centers. Any word on their reputations, size, treatment of nurses, etc.? Any other hospitals in the area I'm missing? Any other thoughts or tips?

Thanks so much!

Drea
