Apollo College LPN Program

Hey, has anyone heard of this new program? Has anyone gone through it? Any news, etc on this? Any information helps. Thank you!

Hi there!
I'm a student at Apollo College, going through the second semester right now. So far, so good. Everything seems to be ok.
One thing you have to keep in mind is that to tranfer to a brigde program (LPN-RN) in Community Colleges, you will have to take all your pre-requisits in a Community College. Apollo pre-requisits do not work for Community Colleges, ok?

The Apollo program costs about $20,000. If you have credits that transfer in it will be a bit less. I am a student there and so far I really like it. The instructors are experienced and friendly. I should also add that Apollo is working on getting an approval for their LPN program to be switched to an RN program. So it just depends on if you have the patience to be on a waiting list for a long time to get into a LPN or RN program somewhere else (like a community college) or if you want to pay more money. Honestly, the education is the same as a community college. I hope that helps you

20,000 for an LPN program is a total ripoff, your walking without any type of college degree, RN school at a community college with prereqs is half the cost. Dont get into debt for LPN School, I know Mt Hood community college is opening an LPN program which should be much cheaper than these private schools.

Also this is a brand new program that has not graduated a nurse as of yet. Personally I would not jump into a program this young...let them work out the kinks first. I do have friends that are in the program however and do seem to like it but these are people that were on long waiting lists at their preferred programs d/t grades for prereq's and test scores.

I personally am not a big fan of Apollo because they were dishonest to my wife when she did her dental assistant program, promising that they were accredited but were not.

I understand what you are saying about it being expensive, but trying to get into any kind of nursing program these days is near impossible. You will be on a waiting list for years. So for people who want to get their license quick, and without years of wait, then paying the money is well worth it

. FYI: for the RN program that they are putting in at Apollo you get your associates degree, same as community college, just costs more more money!

Apollo is nationally accredited, not regionally accredited like OSU, UofO, PCC, etc. They are accredited though.

Ya and good luck getting into ANY of those programs! A lot of people don't have the luxury of of sitting around waiting.
