Transplant Nurse/Unit

I'm a RN on a Women's Med/Surg floor and I have been looking into other positions and specialties for the future. One thing that piques my interest has been transplant nursing.
Are there any of you guys experienced or knowledgeable about this specialty? Just wondered exactly what the RN would be responsible for (pre-op, OR, post-op)?
