I hate the paper things we have at work :wink2:

I'm looking for a good pattern to make a bouffant style hat that ties. Elastic and I don't get along. Band or no band - either is fine.

Any suggestions on where I can get my hands on such an animal?

A lady I work with makes caps with an eleastic but it has a toggle thing in the back so you can adjust it. I love them because I have long hair and they are the only things that keep my hair under control.

Fabric stores usually have patterns for them, as well as scrub jackets. You can also take the elastic out of a bouffant one and then use the paper one as a pattern, and just attach a band to it....................

had to dig through a closet but i found it--butterick 4946 professional uniform basics. it looks like the bouffant style has elastic, but you could easily pull a tie through the casing.

Can't help with a pattern, but check out these pony tail scrub hats. I just ordered some and really like them.

This is an AWESOME site for Scrub Caps! I ordered some, they have great variety, fit well, and are very comfortable even after a Loooong 12 hour shift!

Thanks for the AWESOME website-I've been looking for cute hats for a while, as I can't really sew. These are great caps, with a variety of patterns, and the best part (for me anyway) is that they're reasonable priced. Much gratitude for the post

I've been using Sparkling Earth since my first day in the OR! They are fantastic - lots of variety and reasonably priced!

If you sew at all and have a "paper" hat from a place you have worked you can take it apart and make a pattern. The hat I patterned takes only 1/3 yd material , ties in the back and doesn't look like a "chef"s" bonnet. Also, a "doc's" scrub hat takes only 1/4 yrd. and can be a good gift.

I have made hats and purchased hats. I now go to crazyscrubs.com for mine.

Go to EBAY! They have thousands of styles and you can buy patterns. Some vendors will even let you ship them fabric and will send you back a hat. I am terrible with a sewing machine so ebay has been wonderful for me. Try cutethingsonly
