Hello, I have a few questions. I have the opportunity to go through a peri-op program where i live. I know every program operates differently, but i have some general questions. For someone that has been through it, what did your day consist of? Can somebody give me some insight as to how it might be. Any advice for going through a peri-op program? I have been out of nursing school for awhile, and this peri-op program is six months long. Some background information on me is that I'm an Rn with Ltc (1year) and Med-Surg (6 months) experience. I always wanted to work in the OR and i finally get a chance to go through this program. Thanks.

Mainly class work and labs the first 2-3 months and then they let you shadow a preceptor or several till they let you loose. You might not be on your own for awhile...enjoy, learn and take all of it in it while you can and ask questions. Congratulations and good luck.
