Looking for Comfy Shoes

I am a soon to be recent graduate (1 week and counting). I will be working in the OR at Children's hospital. I would like some suggestions on the best shoes to stand still for long periods of time. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks so much.

I have wide feet but I have found my dream shoe both for work and ordinary wear(not the same pair!) Flyflots, I don't know if you can get them in the US but you can buy them online from shoeshop.com? They really are so comfortable. They are the first pair of work shoes I've had that don't get kicked of at my front door when I go home!

I wear croc's, like everyone else I have tried god knows how many different shoes and croc's I find are best for my back and my feet!

The unfortunate thing about them is that they will be banned in our theatres as of August, apparently....and I am dubious, but in sweeden they have been found to give off static that has interfered with cardiac monitors!!!

Personally I say...what a load of rubbish! But we had a memo just yesterday telling us that we were not allowed to wear croc's after August 1st!! I am devastated! I love my croc's!!! :(

I also love my Crocs, but I have noticed that I would get and give off small electric shocks every so often so maybe there is something to it. I still wear my Crocs on vacation and during the summer though.

I have used only Super Burkies for years, and would not even consider any others. You can change out the innersoles as needed. And they actually have a very solid front toe area. Had about 30# of weights come down on my foot a few years ago, and in any other shoe would have been off work for at least 6 weeks if not longer. Only had a small bruise across two toes.

Work great in other areas of the hospital as well, you cannot run over your feet with a gurney or bed.

This sounds interesting to me because I just got a job in an OR where I will be doing exclusively Ortho so toe protection would be a big plus!! Are they expensive and can people with high arches wear them?
