Does anyone have policies regarding maintaining preference cards. We are building our data base and have to write policies to maintain and update as needed.

Where I work we do not have a "policy" regarding maintaining preference cards.
However, the different specialties have "coordinators" who have the responsibility of maintaining dr. preference cards, making changes, updates, etc. It is part of their job description.

As the GYN and URO team leader, it is my responsibility to update/create new dr. preference cards for my surgeons. Working with each of them, I am able to update/make changes accordingly. We also ask our circulators and/or techs to "write" any necessary changes and forward to each team leader to update as needed. Having updated complete and thorough dr. preference cards makes our jobs so much more efficient.
