I have working on med-surge or step down last four years. I have been interested in OR nursing ( circulating and scrubbing) and trying to get in Preop 101. Unfortunately, It has not happened yet. I am thinking to try outpatient OR position. I will be trained for preop, scrubbing, and PACU. Does outpatient experience help to get in inpatient in the future? can I get credentials to sit for first assist or CNOR with OR nursing experience in outpatient?
Thank you so much.

Do you mean ambulatory surgery versus main operating room surgery?
Not sure what outpatient/inpatient surgery is.
In that case, sure you can get ambulatory surgery experience and then apply for the main OR with the bigger and more critical cases.
