Do you always remove the air from IV bags?


When spiking a new IV bag, do you always remove the air from the bag?

Only pressure bags, not for regular IV's.

Only when spiking saline for an arterial line, otherwise, no.

and in Pediatrics & Open Heart surgery, it is a good idea.

In agreeance with the others before me, only with ART lines (peds - great idea)...now, IV tubing - absolutely each and everytime
