REALLY scared.....anyone else already started that can add some info into how the program is going so far???? My final goal is a DNP and hope this is the right route to take. Skipping my BSN seems scary to me!!!!

I myself was ADN prepared and got my BSN in july. Im starting walden MSN FNP in december. I think you should be fine the BSN was test paper and a great. More prpfessional and management leadership classes

I am wondering the same thing for PA, but nobody replies...lol. i tried with the PA board of nursing, but the only thing they told me was that they evaluate each application for licensure on an individual basis. I am enrolled at La Salle University in Phila now for the MSN FNP, but am looking to transfer into Walden because it is too much travelling back and forth to campus.

Note on Certification

The MSN nurse practitioner specializations are designed to prepare graduates to qualify to sit for national nurse practitioner certification exams, which are required for practice as a nurse practitioner in most states. Because no graduate program can guarantee that graduates will be permitted to practice as a nurse practitioner upon graduation, we encourage students to consult the appropriate Board of Nursing or state agency to determine specific certification exam requirements. Walden enrollment advisors can provide information relating to national certification exams; however, it remains the individual's responsibility to understand, evaluate, and comply with all requirements relating to national certification exams for the state in which he or she intends to practice as requirements vary widely. Walden makes no representations or guarantee that completion of Walden coursework or programs will permit an individual to obtain national certification. For more information about nurse practitioner certification exams, students should visit the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners at www.aanpcertification.org, the American Nurses Credentialing Center at www.nursecredentialing.org, or other nurse practitioner certification exam websites.

I will also be starting

I first heard of Walden University about 2 weeks ago from my co worker. A little nervous about applying because Ive never hear baout it before. Looking for a FNP program to attend that dosent cost an arm and a leg. How is the program for anyone that is already attending.

Have you ever heard of La Salle University in Philadelphia? Probably not...I completed my undergrad there(BSN), and it is one of the top private schools in the country. I have been thinking much about this topic and before I met my fiance, she went to Waterloo University in Ontario(one of the top schools in all of Canada), which is internationally known but I never heard of it in my life. HAve you ever heard of either school?

SO, that doesn't say much. I have never heard of Walden up until a few years ago, but I do know several nurses who are in management roles now that went to Walden at my facility. I was just accepted to start in Dec for the FNP program and I am actually transferring out of a brick and mortar school to Walden. I work with three nurses who are are in online FNP programs and the Adult Acute NP who I work with at our facility also went to an online school(that I have never heard of) and had no problems finding a job.

Has or is anyone taking NP courses through Walden? I am finishing my BSN & thinking of continuing but wandering from someone whose done it, how it differs from online BSN and off you feel you are getting a good experience and education? Thanks
