Hi Nursekto,

I started the Walden BSN program in 3/13 and will be graduating next month. I plan to start my AGNP classes in September. I have found that minute clinic types of places are very supportive for clinical hours.

I wanted to do the FNP but there is actually a capped enrollment in the FNP program. I don't plan on working with kids but I love adults and geri s. The registration process went very smoothly.

My husband is at DeVry for computer forensics. DeVry is partnered with Chamberlain -- and some of the people in his classes are just idiotic. I don't know what Chamberlain's admission criteria are, but if they are anything like DeVry's, that would be a sad and scary place.

I called the state board of nursing in the state where Walden University is and they said they were approved and accredited.

I am currently attending Chamberlain college of nursing FNP n find it very rewarding. Yes it can be challenging but I don't want anything handed to me..We do take any classes through Devry in the master's program if that helps. I like it so far any questions just let me know

I'm in my last year of a 3-year program at Walden for a Doctor of Education degree. I have enjoyed the entire experience so far. Now that I have less than a year to graduation, I've started on my dissertation and find the process very satisfying. I have nothing but good things to say about Walden from the moment I made my first phone call contact to now. Walden has a fast track pilot program going on right now that I am in that fast tracks students through the dissertation process in order to complete it in a timely manner. Will be a lot of work but should be worth it in order to finish by the 3-year mark.

I graduate in August with my MSN-FNP. The completion time, if you double up on your classes and clinical toward the end, is approximately 20 months, if you take one class at a time or part-time you are looking at 2-4 years. I transferred from a brick and mortar (My BSN program) due to time restraints and driving distance. At first, I was a little apprehensive because it was a new program, but I do not regret it because I will be sitting for my boards in October. There is a lot of work involved with the program and is not for the light-hearted or someone looking to squeak by. I am satisfied with the choice and have not had any major problems, just be prepared to dedicate some time to locate your own clinical sites, which was not very difficult either. Another word of advice is to secure a good preceptor that is friendly and knowledgeable! I had a FNP my first two rotations and have a DO and MD for the last two! Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to respond the best I can.

I believe Walden has a list on their website listing what states approve the program. It is the same list that Georgetown's online FNP program has. It has nothing to do with the schools themselves, but the actual state.
