Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Walden has started new a new FNP and AGNP enrolling now for start date in Sept, Oct, and Dec. hope this is helpful to people that are interested.

in order to finish the practicum in 6 months you will have to put in at least 24 hours per week in clinicals. Sounds like you may have to change jobs or go part-time. I have quit work all together and will start clinical in about a month. I'm taking a break and doing some fishing before get down to business.

You are a great resource mark . Always appreciative for you taking the time out to answer our questions :-)

Short answer yes it is!

I am from Texas and will be starting the program on the 4th if I can get some questions answered. I am concerned about the program and Texas certification, but as soon as I get the answer I will either be way excited or going to a different school.

I am wanting to get further information on your experience thus far. Is walden approved to do clinicals in Texas by the BON.

I am wondering if there are papers and tests that are required during the practicum portion of this program . I am currently taking policy and transforming nursing thru technology.

Specializes in Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.

Yes there are more (shorter papers) and test during the practicums. the didactic is just as hard or harder, and then you have the clinical hours.....grueling thus far!

I currently live and hold a KY RNlicense. I am wanting to apply to Walden University FNP program. This school is approved by the Ky Board of nursing. I want to move to FLand if husband gets transfer with job this could take place before I finishschool in which I would be living in FL upon graduation. Here is theproblem/question..... Walden is not approved school by FL. Does anyoneknow if this were the case and I would be holding a KY and FL RN license if Icould live in FL, take APRN boards for KY license then transfer this toFL? It would suck to be halfway thru program then move and not even getto use my education because FL hasn't yet approved the school. Any inputwill be appreciated.

I would like to move back home to Florida soon I'm interested in hearing the responses . I'm guessing if Walden doesn't gain approval from Florida I will have to finish before relocating, transfer schools or else

Have u looked at south university? There's no wait list and fl approved. 24months $30k

I would like to know what type of paperwork clinical preceptors are required to submit to Walden University before a student is approved to do their practicums. Are preceptors required to send in their resumes, letters of reference, etc. to Walden? Also, does Walden require students and their preceptors to use the Typhon software for their clinicals?

Thanks very much in advance for any info.

Preceptors are required to submit a copy of their licensure and current resume to the student. The site is required to complete a site affiliation agreement. The student then uploads the practicum documents altogether. The Typhon software is not used.
