I am wondering if there are papers and tests that are required during the practicum portion of this program . I am currently taking policy and transforming nursing thru technology.

Yes there are more (shorter papers) and test during the practicums. the didactic is just as hard or harder, and then you have the clinical hours.....grueling thus far!

I currently live and hold a KY RNlicense. I am wanting to apply to Walden University FNP program. This school is approved by the Ky Board of nursing. I want to move to FLand if husband gets transfer with job this could take place before I finishschool in which I would be living in FL upon graduation. Here is theproblem/question..... Walden is not approved school by FL. Does anyoneknow if this were the case and I would be holding a KY and FL RN license if Icould live in FL, take APRN boards for KY license then transfer this toFL? It would suck to be halfway thru program then move and not even getto use my education because FL hasn't yet approved the school. Any inputwill be appreciated.

I would like to move back home to Florida soon I'm interested in hearing the responses . I'm guessing if Walden doesn't gain approval from Florida I will have to finish before relocating, transfer schools or else

I would like to know what type of paperwork clinical preceptors are required to submit to Walden University before a student is approved to do their practicums. Are preceptors required to send in their resumes, letters of reference, etc. to Walden? Also, does Walden require students and their preceptors to use the Typhon software for their clinicals?

Thanks very much in advance for any info.

Preceptors are required to submit a copy of their licensure and current resume to the student. The site is required to complete a site affiliation agreement. The student then uploads the practicum documents altogether. The Typhon software is not used.

OK i called the TX HECB today - here's what they said. Walden has a Certificate of Authorization in place for their Adult/Geri NP. FNP is not listed on their certificate. They need to have this added which shouldn't be hard. They are certified by NCACS for the THECB.

Ok so - anyone that has actually researched this and has a solid answer. Are we OK to take clinicals for the FNP in Texas and have them COUNT so we can sit for licensure exam???

    Mark,

I'm also at Walden taking FNP. I'm only on my second quarter taking just 5 credits at a time. I love all your post. People think that Walden is easy but it's actually hard and time consuming.
Since you've already taken the specialty courses, can I ask if the assignment writing part ever gonna end? I'm okay with the discussions since it's kinda informal but the long paper is just exhausting! I am not a gifted writer so it consumes my time trying to construct a coherent and gramatically correct paper. I read in your post that there are quizzes every week and discussions in the specialty courses. Are there assignment papers as well? I think my strength is more on quizzes and tests. To me writing is harder than memorizing. I would appreciate every input.

    Thanks!

Thanks for asking this question . I have the same concerns . I will be starting in the specialty courses in March and I am fearful of the writing assignments on top discussions, quizzes etc

But as he mentioned before it never gets easier

I'm also considering taking the last three classes before practicum separately I believe they are the meat of the program . Is it doable to work full time taking advanced patho and health assessment ? I don't want to postpone practicum but is it's worth it I will
