For prospective applicants for the 2017 year in the program. Being as I am currently wait listed in the 2016 year due to a very late application, there is a high probability I would have to apply again come November 1st 2016 for the following year acceptance.

November 1st, 2016 is the priority application deadline for the 2017 year. All materials (GRE, official transcripts, application payment, letters of recommendation, statement of intent) must have been submitted by this date.

Letters of acceptance for August 2016 orientation and start were sent out the first week of February 2016. Wait listed recipients received their wait list offer in an around the first week of March 2016 with the caveat that seats may open well into late July.

I felt the same thing. I assumed I was out because I didn't hear anything. I also applied to the PMHNP before November 1st. However, I got my invitation to interview this morning. It's not too late but the suspense is killer.

Does anyone know when we can expect to hear and how many people they typically accept? Thanks!

Kar322,

Which specialty did you apply for? I believe that most will not receive acceptance information until March; however, as you can see here, some specialties have received interviews already.

I was given a sort of informal "yes" indication...I think. I can't remember their exact wording, but it had something to do with how they were excited to see me on campus.

FNP track!

I applied to the FNP track as well and from the past applicants it seems we are one of the lucky specialties that has absolutely zero contact until decision day.

Pre-specialty FNP applicant here. Last time I talked to Bernie from admissions (Nov 9th), us lucky FNP applicants will learn our fate around mid/end of February. I am sure time will fly by and we will be finding out about our admission status in the near future. Let's hope they spare us by dishing out decisions a week or two earlier than they indicated.

I applied to the AGACNP with hopes of getting into the intesivist track. March seems so far away, but it is much closer today than it was when I applied. Looking forward to seeing many of you in the general classes next fall should we be so lucky to be accepted. Any other AGACNP applicants out there?

Hi Everyone,

I have been sorting through all of your comments and am excited to see other people in the same boat as me. I am applying to the ASN-MSN Nurse Midwifery Program for Fall 2017. Is there anyone else applying to this program? Sarah Fogel is my contact person, and she said there is still time for me to apply. As many of you have mentioned, the GRE scores are a biggy for Vanderbilt. I got 156 Verbal and 4 analytical, and not even going to mention quant . I have a 3.45 GPA and a ton of experience as a birth doula and working side by side with nurse midwives. Just wanted to post to see how I compare with others in my situation. Good luck everyone!

Specializes in ER.

I interviewed for the Dual Cert ENP focus. It went well, but I also interviewed for the same program last year and did not get accepted. So I take it with a grain of salt and will wait until Feb/Mar to find out more.

For anyone who applied to the pre-specialty PMHNP program and hadn't heard anything -- I just received an interview request today! So don't lose hope! (I had pretty much taken VUSN off my list as I was sure I was out.) Good luck!

I had my interview yesterday for PMHNP. Overall it was a really relaxed interview - they really take the time to read your application. They ask questions from your application then move to the standard ones - basically why nursing, why psych, why Vanderbilt and what your short/long term goals are. They said we should hear back the 2nd or 3rd week of February...
