TWU Spring 2014 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey everyone. I just wanted to start a thread for all of those hoping to get into TWU starting Spring 2014. My name is Kia and I have already sent in my application and completed my TEAS V exam. I'll be in the Denton campus patho class this fall (trying to wait patiently for an acceptance letter-GOD willing).

Nope they never sent an email, but I sent an email to student records via TWU email as soon as I saw the problem. I'll call if they don't reply anytime soon. Thanks Nikki

Hey everyone! I'm Hazel and I just got in this website. I took the TEAS on June 28 and it was sent on the 29th. I checked the TWU WebAdvisor site and didn't see it under MyDocuments. I guess I'm gonna have to call since its almost been a month... Anyone else having this problem? I've pretty much done everything else (both applications and portal/email).

This makes me so nervous! Ill probably move my test date to 1 week earlier than aug 24. I hope they do get the score results in time for all of us! I'm so not ready yet. I suck at math and its freaking me out to move the date to an earlier one ?

That's a tough decision. Well, I just called TWU today and they already got my result. You should be ok with 1 week period. What happen is after I called TWU they were able to go on ATI website and pull my score from there to their system. So if ATI doesn't send your score, just call TWU and have them transfer it for you. It is an instant process, I hope that ease your mind a little bit :)

Yay!!!! So glad it worked out for you. Thank you for sharing the info!!

Has anyone been accepted in TWU with a GPA of 3.4?

They probably look at your other things too like test score & preferences, I read some posts in previous forums, it is possible with a lower GPA, but the other requirements are usually above average.

Thats great score! I am pretty sure you are competitive the advisor told me just try aim for a 80% But I know students made in UT are mostly at 90% range. I studied alot of vocabs on the list already but I don't think i am ever prepared for those sections because new words often just keep coming out at me ( English is not my first language). In my opinion if you are good at reading you would be fine on the TEAS, that is the section I did bad on. I ran out of time on reading and that pulled my score down, I made low 70% overall. I got 83% on grammar and math, science i made like 67%... I studied hard for the science, but like most of people say, it is random. Some stuff on the Science was really obvious, some are just like what is that mean! lol -__-" If you are not confident in math, make sure you practice.. I always feel strong in math so i didn't study in math at all. When i was done with that section, I barely made on time. But the book prepares you well on the math, I felt I made 100% but I am not sure why only 83% lol. English took alot of my time because i reread the passage like 3 times.. and the second part is mostly ask what is the best economic value, so make sure you save time for those because they are super easy but they do take time. One advise my friend told me was when you "think" that's the answer, just choose it and go on, DONTTTTT reread but i didn't listen. So I end up guessing on 5-7 questions -_- " The science .. I thought I was really prepared with Human Anatomy and I felt like i knew everything in the review, but still made a 60%! So heart broke, make sure you do go back to your AP book and review because TEAS review doesn't well prepare you for it. I did good on the life science, not sure how, but I didn't get any rock cloud type of questions. You should google some examples of Vaporization condensation etc, because they don't just ask you what the definition, they give you 4 examples.. Grammer section they had something different, they give you 4 lines of small sentences and ask you to arrange in orders. Everything else was covered in the book.[/quote']

What did you use for the teas exam? Please give me an advice and how was math for you, a lot of word problems?

I bought TEAS 5 manual by ATI. The math was easy in my opinion, but very time consuming. Not a lot of word problems, its the equations that takes time. With that little time, you just have to be very accurate when you calculate problems the very first time. I didn't have a chance to go back to the problems and recheck my answers. I finished the math section 2-3 minutes before the time up. I felt like I was well prepared for math section but didn't make a 100% maybe because I was nervous and rushing, little mistakes often happen that way lol.

Just go over the math section in TEAS 5, that will well prepare you for the exam. Some multiplication problems are more complicated than the book.

Do they give conversions or do we have to memorize them?

1933107987, The McGraw-Hill is really helpful too. No you don't have to memorize conversions, the test is provided for you and the problems are really easy.
