Does anybody know more information about the BSN program at St Thomas University Miami or now someone in the program? Their BSN program is recently new.

Thanks

i have no idea either! have you applied? I applied today.

I have no idea either! I applied today for spring 2018.My GPA is not too strong so I am nervous NOT sure what to expect. Have you applied?

I applied this July, I've sent over my transcripts last week. I am now waiting to be evaluated. They don't go by overall GPA. As long as you have a decent GPA on their Pre-Req and Science you should be fine. I applied with Nova a while ago and got denied, I did not score well on the Kaplan, and since I was taking classes while I was invited for an interview my overall GPA drop down to 2.99 (Science GPA is good). My overall gpa now is good, but I don't want to re-apply. Keep in mind that you do need a Pre-Calculus class for STU, as soon as I hear back from them I will let you know.

Thank you so much for your help! I am not a strong test taker so if I do get called for an interview I will be nervous about the Kaplan. I have see though on nova threads that people have gotten accepted with a score as low as 58% and that the interview is the strongest point. Do you think it's hard to get into st Thomas? I don't have pre cal though it's not on their list? I took college algebra and I am taking stats this fall.

I started my prerequisite in May at South Florida College of Nursing in Miami. I know the BSN is the way to go... but I need to start working ASAP. Once I become an RN... many employers will help pay for my BSN. I was accepted to start the nursing program in the Fall and so far the instructors have been amazaing, I am very excited to begin. Check out their website at South Floirda College of Nursing - Nursing Degree Programs, Registered Nurse, Nursing Degree Courses

So far it's been a great expereince!

And good luck to you!! I hope you get in :))

I actually met with an advisor and was told to take Pre-Calculus Mac1140 I believe. (Have it Enrolled for fall) I have Mac1105 but Pre Calculus is needed. I would suggest to show up with your unofficial transcripts so you can have a change for Jan, also a guidance by them. I've learned not to seat and wait. Show up and find out what you need to do. Lol . I'm sure you are going to hear from Nova. You have a good change! But show up and speak with STU. It's always good to have a backup plan. I have my AA in Pre Nursing but I can't apply with Mdc Bc I took A&P ten years ago and they want me to retake, it's a waste of time and money retaking classes that I already passed with As specially Anatomy. Im happy with my A. Lol.

I was not aware of this School John. I live in Doral. Will give them a call too. Are they accredited?

I agree no point in taking them again especially with an A. Okay now I'm freaking out becaUe math is my weakest subject I hardly passed Mac 1105 college algebra. Nova wants stats and they want pre cal. It's annoying how different schools want different pee req.

Statistics is not an easy class. But you will have a better chance with Nova, sure you will get an interview. I have all classes needed for the BSn except Pre-Calculus which STU wants. Have you tried applying with Barry? They want a 3.2 overall GpA I believe, I'm not even close Lol. Hopefully I would hear for STU. Their program is new and since there is no entrance exam lots of people are applying, they have a waiting list. I was place for January. Will keep you posted.

Sadly South Florida College of Nursing in Doral does not offer financial aid and private loans. Their program is based on payment plan. I can't afford it. I just checked their page.
