Regis Spring 2012 (as well as CU and Metro)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

This is my second time around in applying to Regis and got asked to interview in a week and a half. Was wondering if anyone else is in the boat with me??? My interview is on July 28th. I would love to hear input from everyone and see how they got here. Last year, I interviewed but didn't get in :crying2: and it makes me more nervous about this time around, but over all I feel more confident!

Sidenote: I have also applied for CU and Metro's Jan Programs and still waiting to hear from either of those programs. Would love to hear from others on their journey!!!:yeah:

That is a good number of selected candidates. I didn't receive an email.

It was the itinerary for my interview on Thursday. It talked about times, where to park and what to expect for the day that I am there. So don't get sad :crying2:

Well I spoke with the admissions counselor and she said that she tried to put all the out of staters on august 12th but couldn't so placed everyone else randomly. I hope that means august 12th I the last interview day so decisions can be sent out! Good luck this week sunshinelu86 let us know how it goes!

Graceful88,

Thanks for letting us know!!! Definitely clears things up. Yes good luck sunshinelu88. Now we wait Graceful88.

Thank you both! I hope that the decisions will be mail out as soon after the interviews are done too. I will keep you all updated after the interview!

I'm back!! Finished my interview earlier today, then did the tour and information lunch. The questions are as follows...I hope I remember them.

1. Why Nursing?

2. Why Regis? (and are you okay with the misson statement etc)

3. Has there been a experience that has been difficult, how did you get through it and what did you learn? (phrasing might be different)

4.What do you want me (the interviewer) to remember most about you (the candidate) for the admission committee.

There is one that I can't remember () sorry. They did ask what experiences I had in a health care setting too.

I got interviewed by one lady, but some of the other candidates got two people.

They said about 300 applied this year. 180 to be interviewed. Everyone there today was from Colorado :) and that no ranking was in place for when they interviewed people.

Also, we will find out our admissions shortly after the last people interview in August, they should be mailed by snail mail August 22nd. :D So everyone good luck on your interviews and let me know how they go!!!

Thank you so much for the info!

I remember the last questions! Actually it was second to last, but anyways....

They asked about how you felt about the intensity of a one year program , and how you are going to deal with it. And they asked about teamwork settings!

Okay I'm going to stop talking now....

Sunshinelu86,

Thank you for those questions! You must be so relieved that you are done with your interview now! Did you have a great time? Did they indicate that the interviews went until the 19th or perhaps they end on August 12th and they just take that week to make decisions? Were the interviewers nice or did anyone mention they got grilled? Was everyone dressed in a suit set? Did anyone have parents with them at all? Sorry to ask so many question! Ah I am so nervous now!

I did have a good time, it was nice getting to know others that are in the same boat as us. the 12th is the last day of interviews and they said that the next week they would be making decisions and sending out mail. So I believe their goal is to be DONE by the 22nd. I think only one girl said she felt awkward with the person that interviewed her, (she said she wasn't getting any feedback). Some people wore a suit set, but more were dressed in a nice skirt or slacks and a top (with a sweater sometimes too) it does tend to get hot on the tour tho. No parents, not really sure if that would be a good idea. Don't be nervous!! You'll do great!!!!:yeah: I'm cheering for you.

Sunshinelu86,

Thank you so much for the info. Hopefully my interview won't be awkward since it is on the last day august 12 and over skype.

Hi everyone...congratulations on getting an interview. I just completed the program in May and can't believe how fast the time went. I had a great experience and met lots of great people. From what I remember the questions they asked in the interview were pretty typical. Strengths/weaknesses, why nursing, why Regis (really do your research on the Jesuit mission and how that sets Regis apart), what did you do with your other degree, tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult person, and the toughest...why you?. As always be sure to have some thoughtful questions to ask.

I think the question has been asked about dress and I would err on the conservative side.

Also if anyone is interested in some second hand Regis scrubs/mandatory polo (for service activities in the community) I could save you a bundle off of buying them new. You'll spend enough at Regis :)

Best of luck!
