NURSE Corps Scholarship 2016-2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! It looks like the NURSE Corps 2016-2017 application is set to open on March 8th, 2016. I'm starting this forum to help any of those applying (like myself!) so that we all have somewhere to turn to with questions.

I started to fill out my application today. I've been accepted into an accelerated 12 month program for my BSN. The application keeps wanting me to put a second year though I won't be in school for a second year... On that same page at the bottom it states "required Enter your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as indicated on your Complete Official Student Aid Report" - I've never done this report. Should I do this through my school or online? Good luck!

This is the fafsa, you do it online and after you submit it you get a report with ur EFC.

I started my application also, although I only have about 8 months left of school, I'm out of financial aid and getting this scholarship would be just awesome.

based on the guidance document, pages 7-8, it seems that they have historically only offered the scholarship to people with an efc below $5,000.

can other folks confirm that reading of the guidance?

I have read this as well. I know historically through other forums, those that have received it typically have close to $0

Yes I've heard this as well and I even read in another feed that so many people apply, that most of the time they only grant it to people with 0

I'm in the process of applying now. I have one letter being submitted soon and I haven't submitted my essays yet just because I want to make sure they're perfect! Does anyone want to share their stats? Good luck to everyone!

Hello,

I started my application in March...last year's group of accepted students heard a positive reply as early as August...I hope that we are luckier and hear sooner than that.

My EFC was 0 when I got it

Submitted my application today. I got accepted into two BSN programs.

Hi everyone,

I am also patiently waiting on the nurse corps scholarship to process my application. I have a bachelors degree of psychology, and an ASN in nursing. I am currently enrolled in the bridge MSN family nurse practitioner program at George Washington University. My bridge course started a few weeks ago and my matriculation date for my nurse practitioner program starts at the end of August. I have an estimated EFC of 0, a nursing GPA of 3.86 and an overall GPA of 3.4. I will keep everyone posted if I see any updates to my account. Is there anyone attending a nurse practitioner program that has applied?

-Casey
