Does anyone know if they will send us our class/clinical assignments when they send out the acceptance letters? I'm curious to know what day(s) we have clinicals.

Yes, they will send you your schedule with your acceptance letter. Clinical days are usually Wed, Thurs, or Fri from 7am - 3pm at a nursing home in Gainesville.

Congrats to everyone that made it. See you at orientation!

So class is Monday and Tuesday on campus, then clinicals are Wed-Fri. Or are clinicals only on one of the three days and we just have to see which day we are assigned? Sorry for all of the questions, but I do appreciate your help!

Disregard that last question. I see right in your post where you said "or". Thanks just the same and I will see you at orientation!

I just finished browsing my NCTC account in hopes of finding that something had changed reflecting getting into the ADN program. Unfortunately, nothing yet...although I expected that. Probably a bit too early. However, I did check the registration for Fall 2013, and checked the nursing classes. These may not be set in stone, and I have no idea how accurate they are. That said, it looks like a full day of classes on Monday, pretty good chunk of the day on Tuesday is class as well. Clinicals posted for us seem to be set for Wednesdays right now. If you can access to your school account online, you should be able to see it too!

EDIT: I just noticed there was only one first semester clinical class listed, so there may be more for other days...or maybe not. Clinicals II, III, and IV all have multiple classes listed. Guess we will see when we get our letters.

I'm hoping the letters come out well before July 18th! I'm anxious to know when we will have class an to get started on our to do list for orientation.

I just saw all these posts about this program. I got in to a hope letters come out soon so I know what the next steps I need to do are. Also jls0459 I live in flower mound so I have the same problem getting to gainesville. Car pulling with people would be really helpful.

I've been reluctant to buy anything for school since I don't want to end up with something I don't need. Will scrubs be available to purchase at orientation or will it just be the smaller items, like stethoscopes?

When I went to the information session recently, the nursing director said that they have the scrubs available for purchase during orientation. I don't know about the other needed items, but I bet if you call the nursing dept they will be able to tell you! :-)

Yes, you can buy scrubs, lab coat, stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, penlights, etc at orientation. But you can save yourself a lot of money if you buy this stuff online like at Amazon or even at the student bookstore (except scrubs).

You really only need a simple stethoscope and blood pressure cuff. Nothing fancy is needed at all. You can find a lot of great sales on sites that sell scrubs. I bought mine at NWscrubs.com. BTW - Landau scrubs tend to run a bit big. I would buy one size smaller. You can also go to the scrub store in Denton or in Lewisville and try on scrubs.

When you buy white scrubs, looks for brands that are not see through. The Grey's Anatomy scrubs are so soft and nice, but completely see through. I like the Dickies brand and Landau.

Thanks for the information! I am shopping around and will probably start making some purchases soon.
