Motlow State 2013 Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, would anyone like to start a thread on getting into Motlow State's Nursing program this fall? I wish everyone luck.

Well just 20 more days to go. Has anyone had any communication with the nursing department? It's kind of like hey just show up and you will find out what happens. Lol. Maybe I'm just getting to anxious to get started.

No, I haven't. I did read the email that was sent to the nursing students. I have not heard from anyone about the record tracker (see previous post from me) situation. I'm not concerned about the CPR card issue, but I am w/ regard to the 2nd dose. I'm very anxious!!!!

I'm so anxious as well! I can't wait to get started. I keep checking my email I feel like they should be sending us more info... But I guess they will just wait for orientation.

I keep checking my email too, thinking the same thing! Maybe, we will get more info. on the 20th. I hope!!!!

Are y'all starting to get nervous???? I know I am! I got my shoes, my top (I'd like to get a second one.) and my lab coat over the weekend for $54! I thought that was a pretty good deal. I'm so excited for Tuesday! I really want to get this schedule pinned down.

That sounds like a really good deal! Where did you get your scrubs and lab coat if you don't mind me asking? I am still getting nervous, and am still trying to come up with my tuition money but I finally bought my last book! I'm really excited for orientation and to learn what the schedule is gonna be. Do we have lab one day a week or two days a week? I haven't figured that out yet.

Well, I got them from a store out of state called 'Workingman's Store.' I got the last med. in both the top and lab coat. I visited w/ family the last week and I got them there. The shoes are nurse Mates, and I got them for $10.90!!! The store that originally had them sold nursing shoes/supplies to the 'Workingman's Store' and that shore passed the savings along to the customers! I have a small foot and there were only about 3 pairs of shoes that fit me! IDK the answer to your question. I'm confused about that. I thought, from the 1st orientation, that we would be in class Mondays/Wednesdays from 9-12, lab skills (at the school) one day a week, that day being either Tuesday or Thursday, w/ the remaining day being clinical (in an off-campus medical facility) that would begin approximately three weeks into the semester, and Fridays off. I have to take Dosage calculations, and that class will be Wednesdays from 8-8:50. I looked at the Motlow mybanner and I looked at my registered classes. Let me know if you can better clarify or confirm anything.

Oh, I think Tuesdays and/or Thursdays we will be there (wherever 'there' is) from 7-2.

Yeah I know the times but I wasn't sure if lab was one day a week or two. I bought a pair of scrubs from the SNA at the first orientation but I'm definitely going to get another pair cause I know all too well about getting stuff on your scrubs and having to change! Maybe they will have some more scrubs next Tuesday. I also still need to get a lab coat but at least I have a few weeks before I have to have it.

You will go 4 days a week from the get go. Before clinicals start you will have "CCL" those clinical days... Very rarely will you have any m-thurs off, pretty much only get one of those days off during weeks of return demos. I was confused about that before I started, too.. (and those tues/thurs are on main campus for yall in the satellite campuses)

I thought I heard we would go four days a week to start out but I wasn't sure about it. Thanks for clarifying!

Yes, thx for clarifying!!!

I was unsure about that as well! That is very good to know! That is so much driving for you guys at different campus's. It will be worth it though :)

I still need to get shoes, extra pair of scrubs, and a lab coat. I have all the required books and most of the ones they mentioned at the first orientation. I am getting very anxious for Tuesday!! I can't wait! We need to keep this thread going in school or be friends on Facebook and start a group. It would be really helpful for an online study group type thing! And if we have questions about hw and reading! It's almost here guys, Im so excited!! :) About a month in we might be asking ourselves why we were ever excited haha!
