Motlow State 2013 Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, would anyone like to start a thread on getting into Motlow State's Nursing program this fall? I wish everyone luck.

I was two rows behind you on the left side! And I got stressed out by medical insurance but it doesn't seem like it will be that expensive thank god! The poor girl sitting next to me is going to have to retake CPR because she went through a place that was not the American Heart Association. But yeah physical, 2nd tb test, titer, background check, and drug test. I found all the books on amazon some for a lot cheaper! I haven't bought them yet but will slowly be getting them over the summer. I made a wish list on amazon with a bunch of the nursing accessories. I researched good cheap shoes, watches, and CPR masks, etc! I trust those amazon reviews haha!

Oh, don't forget about the liability ins.!!! I think I sort of remember you...we're the girl who said you went by 'Evie', or something close to that?

I was sitting at the second table in the center. I ordered some of my books off of amazon and my stethoscope off of medisave.com which saved me a lot of money. Still need about five more books though! :(. I've had all of my titers done so I just have to get the physical thank goodness. But gotta get the as well. I probably won't purchase that until July though.

Hey! First I just wanted to say congratulations for making it in..your ride has officially begun..lol...I just graduated from Motlow in May and I will be sitting for my boards on Sunday..the first semester can get really expensive and I just wanted to let you guys know that I will be selling some of my books some may be older edition but you can go back as far as two editions so just let me know if you would like to look at them..I am from McMinnville

Yep that was me! :) I can't wait til we get all this stuff out of the way so we can start. We should try to enjoy our summer while we can though!

Congrats on making it through ^! Any advice for us?

All I can say is that you will get through it..it may not seem like it at the first...it is a really tough program..there were many nights I cried thinking that I couldn't do it anymore..I was exhausted and stressed to the max...but after a while it will feel like 2nd nature...make friends they will be the ones you turn to and are the only ones who will truly understand what you are going through..enjoy your family while you can cause it is true nursing school will take top priority, but it will all be worth it in the end..If you want to email me about anything or a particular question my email is [email protected]

Hey Ashley! I live in McMinnville also and will be on that campus. If you don't mind me asking where were some of your clinical sites?

Thanks Ashley!!! Also just a heads up we got an email regarding insurance stuff! :)

I submitted my liability ins. app. on Tuesday w/ NSO. It was super simple to apply. I did the print & (snail) mail w/ a check option. $37 for the year.

So, how is everyone doing on getting everything checked off the checklists?

I have everything done except the background check, drug test, and . Just waiting until I get the money to get those done. What about you?

Well, I went to the location provided for the drug test, and they told me that I was at the wrong place, that they don't do those anymore for the school, that I should should go someplace else. I have been in contact w/ the nursing dept. and I am awaiting an answer. Apparantly, there was an issue w/ Truescreen. I have my liability ins. and submitted that info. I have paid and provided the documentation for the background check, but I still haven't heard anything. That was two weeks ago. I have been monitoring my account w/ Truescreen, and it still says that I should have a response within 3-5 days, but still...nothing. I am basically just waiting on those things, and I am in the process of getting the Hep. B injections. I have immunity to everything else.
