MDC Nursing Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I just wanted to start a thread for applicants of the nursing program at Miami Dade College for Fall term 2017. I'm currently working on my last prerequisites and will be finished this semester. I plan on taking the HESI A2 in January and applying for the Generic and Part time tracks.

O jeeze, I called today too and an adviser told be to start checking my email daily 3 weeks from now!

This advisor's response is actually right on target. 3 weeks from now is June 7th. Hopefully, emails actually get sent out around that time.

I'm not sure if this was for me...but I'm going to wait and see if I get an acceptance email and if not then I'm going to retake the HESI. I think that I might have to retake some sciences because I'm coming up to my 10 year mark...so we will see! Thx!!

No I didn't know I could apply for spring as of yet. I'm just going to think positive and be patient.

I have a question in regards to the school schedule. What are the class time for full-time and/or part-time?

Because I'm planning to work while in the program

@candor29 you have to register with advisors. They put you in either sequence 1 or sequence 2. Each sequence has their own designated classes you choose from. You have to register with advisors. I'm almost done and still have to register with them because sometimes the system is not working. I was working but I had to quit my job because the hours just conflicted too much with work but I know some people in the program still work. Right now I have class Tuesday and Wednesday from 8-1120am and clinicals Thursday and Friday 7a-7p. So far I have come across amazing professors who LOVE what they do. They're very experienced and intelligent. You obviously run into those one offs that aren't so great but honestly, how you do in this program depends on the work you put into it. Prepare to read becauE that's the way to pass. Don't leave things for last minute. Also, this isn't your last go at a Hesi. We take hesi every semester and one at the end called the hesi exit that you need to pass to graduate.

Being apart of the nursing school at MDC seems awesome. June needs to hurry up and get here already lol. I'm so eager to know where I stand. Thanks for responding!!

We should make a facebook group, or start a whatsapp chat when we find out who gets accepted. Thoughts??!?!

@cristymarieee Hello I wanted to know what helped you to study for the HESI test at the end of each semester and any tips you can give us. Were there any specifics books that helped you with reviewing the information? Thanks

I purchased 2 books with practice exams, study guideX and I used the hesi a2 app on my iPhone
