Jeff State Spring 2015 Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all! I am transferring from UAB to Jeff State after two unsuccessful attempts at getting into the nursing program over there! I just spoke to the adviser and will be applying with 224.5 points. I had 2 A's and a B in my pre-reqs, and studied for a month and got an 88.7 on the Teas-V. She said that my application was very competitive, and I find it ironic/surprising that I can be competitive at one program and "not on the radar" so to speak at another! Ha! I guess it goes to show that you should never give up on your dreams -- if one avenue won't work just try a new one!

Anyways, I know it's super early, but I couldn't resist starting this post!! I hope to make some new friends so we can help each other study and be the best we can be! Good luck to all!

I'm currently a first semester student at Jeff State main campus and I really love it. I can't speak on Shelby campus but the Jefferson campus is a great place to become an RN. You all have an excellent chance at getting in the program. I wish you all success!!!!

My mind was only prepared for the end of this week, not the end of the month. I'm really going to lose my mind now :-(

I know =( I feel your pain

Well I'm really in a messed up predicament cause I was waiting of Jeff State to have these letters out before the end of the month so I decide on what I'm going to do.

Do y'all know how different the Jefferson campus and the Shelby campus are? I keep hearing how awful Shelby is, and how great Jefferson is, I'm just wondering how different are they, exactly? Does anyone know?

Well I hear Shelby is awful not sure how true that is cause I have been getting second hand information from the friends of people who go to the Shelby campus. But I work with a woman who was attending the day program at Jeff State and absolutely hated it. She said the instructors there were not very knowledgeable about what they were teaching and also that what they presented on test was not the same as the lectures. The same woman b is now in nights and weekends and she loves it.

I put Shelby for my first choice and Jefferson as my second. I just don't know how much different the two campuses are. 'Cause, honestly, if Shelby is that bad, I'm just gonna take Jefferson.

I agree I just want to be taught and learn what I need to know to pass the nclex and be a good nurse.

Lol the waiting is horrible but you are right at least we know some what of time frame. If anyone hears please post so we can start looking, Does anyone know how they do the rejection letters? If you don't mind me asking what kind of points does everyone have? I have 185pts. I didn't do so well on my tease test but hopefully it will be enough:) anyone know what the cut off usually is? They told me 170 but not sure if that is right.

I also heard the cut off was less for the spring then the fall. I also heard that is was around 180 and up. Not sure I have seen the cut off being at both 170 and 180. I did see for the fall someone got in with a 181.

Any good news today guys???

None for me. Not a peep.
