When is your start day going to be? I start on Feb 4th.

I delved in pretty deep with GCU, through my employer, talking to GCU, an alumni on AN and IRL.

From what I gathered, GCU grew too quickly in the early online days. I don't think it helped they went to a for profit organization and re-designed everything. So far, they have been very upfront with me. They return my phone calls and or emails in a timely fashion. My core classes are just that. No more and no less. So far everything has been fine...fingers crossed.

A co worker of mine graduated from GCU and had zero problems. I thought a lot about what I was going to do, and decided to go with them because my organization backs them as well.

Hi, I am getting ready to start the RN to BSN online program at GCU but here all kinds of bad reviews about the school. Wondering if I should apply to ASU instead. Any advice??
I'm also curious what you have heard?

I am currently taking my fifth class at GCU and I have had absolutely no problems. I even had a family emergency during my last class and thought for sure I would have to drop. With the encouragement of my instructor I stuck it out and finished the class...with an A. I love the format of GCU and that the classes are only 5 weeks long. That fits my ADD personality just fine.

I am in my 6th class at GCU and have had no problems so far. Back in August, I actually had to drop the class I was in because I had had surgery and couldn't keep up. I ended up taking a 3.5 month break because of various things going on, and they were very accommodating. My educational and financial counselors kept in contact with me and encouraged me throughout my break. I love that the classes are only 5 weeks long...just when I start to get bored with the subject, I move on to another! The only regret I have has nothing to do with GCU, just more with online schooling in general. I have realized that I do better in a classroom setting- not grade-wise necessarily, but I just enjoying connecting with my professors and fellow students. i do miss that aspect with doing my BSN online. Besides that, great experience! Good luck, I hope you like it too!

I did take stats and it was hard! I am not a math person at all and struggle with math anxiety. I didn't like the format of online learning for stats but it is what it is. I used the Khan Academy tutorials (they are what you learn from) and they were pretty helpful. I also had to use youtube on occasion. IMO, that is not how stats should be taught. My advice is ask questions often if you are struggling. You can utilize a tutor, too. If you have someone in your real life that understands stats then ask for help. I'm not saying any of this to scare you guys and I did get an A in the class...I just feel like it is a difficult format for learning this material. Good luck to you all!!!

What is the format for homework and tests? Weekly? Is there one large exam at the end? others have said the tests are based on the homework. Sounds like you don't lose the homework and keep it for future reference.

hallo, I thought maybe you could help me with a class I am having a hard time with. I am currently taking family centered health promotion class and am having a hard time writing the paper on"review of literature" which is about the levels of health promotion. any tips?

I'm currently writing the same paper and having loads of fun..NOT! I don't know what is is about this paper, but it is a tough one. Did you research the library for your three levels of health promotion? I'm having a difficult time finding information on step #4. All I can say is keep reading and looking. I wish I could be of more help.
