Hello all,

I just received a letter from saying that my application for the ACE program is now complete and I'm waiting for a response. I was wondering if anyone else here is applying for the same program and received an acceptance letter already?:uhoh3: I'm trying to be patient but I wish I knew how long it will take...

drexel nursing graduates excel on state licensing exam

for the year october 1, 2008 through september 30, 2009, 98.5 percent of bachelor's degree graduates of 's college of nursing and health professions passed the pennsylvania state licensing exam on the first try. this is the highest rate in the philadelphia region, ahead of jefferson school of nursing (96.15 percent), west chester university (93.2 percent), villanova university (92.2 percent), university of pennsylvania (91.7 percent) and temple university (83.1 percent). drexel's rate was also among the highest in pennsylvania.

during the same year, cnhp graduated the second-most students in pennsylvania (340).

the cnhp graduates' accomplishments were highlighted in a friday, february 26, 2010 philadelphia inquirer story, http://www.philly.com/inquirer/education/20100226_drexel_nursing_graduates_among_pa__s_best.html.

according to the article, "drexel's nursing program has had a pass rate above 95 percent since its first graduating class in 2002, even as its classes have grown" and drexel "outperformed schools in all categories, from bachelor's degrees in nursing to associate degrees and other programs." dr. mary ellen smith glasgow, associate dean for nursing and undergraduate health professions at cnhp is quoted throughout the article. "to do high-volume, high-quality is quite difficult, and we're thrilled as a college that we've been able to do that," she said."

Thx nursingyogi, I will pm my email address. And I def keep in mind its from the previous year...I'm just interested in seeing how extensive it is...

Hiddencat, will we get the actual booklist at our orientation?

I think it was emailed out just before orientation. If you guys haven't activated your email addresses yet, you should definitely do that. I think if you look on the website for tech services there should be information on how to set it up.

And you definitely don't need a book for genetics- most of the material will be in the blackboard shell for the class.

Thx hiddencat, I'm all set up for my email acct so I'll be on the look out for it the next few weeks.

Anybody (past students- AugustRain or Hiddencat or anyone else) have the Calculate with Confidence book I could buy from them?

does anyone know what time the orientation is suppose to start on march 22?

yes, I just talked to Peggy. She said it's going to be 8-5, as of now but might change

The orientation time is 8am. Spoke with Peggy today 2pm 3/2/10. She states that an email will be sent out shortly stating the time and specifics of the orientation.

Anybody (past students- AugustRain or Hiddencat or anyone else) have the Calculate with Confidence book I could buy from them?

I do, yours if you want it.

ahh, thank you... but I already bought it off Amazon for pretty cheap. But thanks again!

AugustRain,

If you still have, I would like to buy it from you. Thanks.

AugustRain,

If you still have, I would like to buy it from you. Thanks.

Sure, PM me and we'll work it out.

I am trying to decide whether or not I should plan on taking the train to school or driving. Does anyone have experience with either? First quarter is the only quarter I am considering taking the train - I have heard that it is best to have a car at school the other quarters due to the need to drive to clinicals. Would it cause an inconvenience during the first quarter if I take the train and don't have my car in the city? If feedback shows that driving would be best, are there parking lots/garages that you would recommend? As the first day of classes approaches I am trying to plan all the last minute logistics. Thanks!!
