So all my prereqs are completed and I just took TEAS V a few days ago..passed everything except english portion (56.7 cutoff is 60) and was wondering if anyone has been accepted into their program with a memo? Im meeting with the people in charge of the program next week to discuss my test scores and see if it is a possibility to apply. I guess I just wanted to know if anyone has gone this route before??? Thanks

Don't know what you mean by a memo. You need to pass TEAS at my school to get interviewed for the program. You need to pass TEAS in all 4 areas: Reading, English, Math, Science. Why would you ask for a waiver or a "memo"? In nursing school they won't give you a round up. My school required a 76% to pass in each class. Several students had 75.9, 75.8, etc. They failed. Study and retake TEAS.

I took Kaplan test and failed already, when I wrote the program director they said the could basically waive my scores as long as they were within 5 points of the cut off so this time I took TEAS and came within 5 points of the cut off and asked if I could get a memo to apply anyway. They said they would take a look at my scores at let me know if this would be possible...trust me I would of rather just passed the damn test but Im really trying to start the program in JAN but dont have enough time to retake the test.

What Kaplan test?

I'm surprised the Director said that. Getting in any where is competitive. Anyhow, if you get in, don't expect to ask for a waiver if you're failing a class. Just being realistic. Good luck to you.

Hi there just wondering if you were able to get in w/ a memo, as I'm in the same situation

I retook the test and passed so I could submit without worrying about it...I've heard of some people that were accepted for spring 16 with a waiver though.

Did you retake Kaplan or Teas? Is the Teas hard? Compared to Kaplan

I retook Kaplan test...it's easier in my opinion and it's free. The only thing with Kaplan test is the study guide they provide is too broad in my opinion, considering the science section of the test is very specific to health science. I did some research on here and saw a few people complaining about the same thing and suggested "barons anatomy and physiology" you can get it on amazon for around 16 bucks I believe. I would study the Kaplan book except for the science section and then take the Barron's book and tab the chapters that are specific to the Kaplan test and only study that. When I did this I passed the test. The book is great and easy to read.

Thank u for the info!
