Concordia University ABSN Fall 2013

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Any pre-nursing applicants to CUI's ABSN program for Fall 2013? Deadlines are right around the corner!

Just an FYI - to get the best price on the books I bought 2 of them from Concordia's bookstore and the other 2 from Half.com. Total was $94.34 for all 4 books.

is there anyone else who already has their own private insurance and will not be getting it through the school? I was told that I do not have to fill out a waiver form for the Fall 2013 semester since we are not full time students. Wanted to know if anyone else has heard something else.

Eperez123 was the booklist under the course when you registered? I must not have looked hard enough. I just added the FB group as well if I can be approved. =) I am planning on waiving out of the school's insurance, but for some reason my student ID number isn't valid so I called the health center and am just waiting on a return call from them. I do know the waiver is due August 31. Does everyone have to get vaccines all over again? I can't find my vaccination record so I guess my only option is to get everything again.

The person I spoke to at the Wellness Center said our ID's aren't valid when we try to log in and waive out because we are not full time students, and thus, are not required to waive for this current semester. Let me know when someone calls you back. I want to make sure I wasn't misinformed. lol. I do not want to be stuck with a $1,600 bill. Also, I uploaded a link on the fb page to the bookstore. The books are listed online through the bookstore.

Regarding the vaccines, for most of them you can get titers that will test for immunity. I had to do this before volunteering at a hospital. If the titer shows no immunity, then you have to get the vaccine. Check with your doctors office.

Let me clarify in case I confused anyone. If you don't have health insurance and did not already contact Jeanne, please e-mail her asap and make sure you get coverage because there is a deadline. My previous post was specifically for students who already have private health insurance and was planning to opt out from Concordia's health insurance plan.

arokim, I am also planning on opting out on health insurance from Concordia because I plan on using my wife's health insurance. The health center also told me to hold off on waiving my insurance since we will be part time students in the fall. Our packet indicates that we need to show proof of insurance by November 4th, so I'm assuming we should waive out some time before this date. Our health and physical form is also due that day. I'm pretty sure they will explain everything during our orientation on September 18th.

EhKim, Did you end up finding the books? Once you log in to your MyRecords account, click on My Classes, then click on My Registration, then Student Course Schedule. On the bottom, in parenthesis, click on Order Your Books.

thanks! lol I wish orientation was sooner.

Thanks! Yes I've found it. So between now and orientation on September 18, is there anything else that needs to be done? I still have to schedule my CPR class, but besides that, I think we're supposed to wait on everything, right?

Yes, I think you're right.

For those of you who ordered your books through concordia online bookstore, how much was the shipping cost? and how long did it take to receive them? :)
