Nursing Students School Programs

Anyone on here apply to Columbia's MSN-FNP program? Not the DIRECT entry program, but the Master's program for BSNs.

What are your stats?

Also love to hear from current students in the Master's portion!

I applied to the MSN PNP program! Had a 3.1, GRE 153 Q 160 V 5.0 AW...it's def a reach for me! What about you?

Futureeastcoast did you get any info? I have a bsn and am thinking of applying for part-time . Anyone else have any info?

I am currently in the FNP program at Columbia University. I graduated in May 2014 with my BSN and started the MSN program as a lateral full-time student. The program consists of students of all ages, predominantly late 20's -30's. Some people are very experienced nurses and others, like myself, have no experience. I had a 3.6 GPA, no experience, and my GRE scores were average. I think they rely heavily on student essays and resume. Overall it is a great program, but like most nursing programs out there-they can seem a bit disorganized at times. Just be aware that we all experienced it and have survived. We have reputable guest lectures all the time and are surrounded by incredible staff members that have contributed to the nursing field in numerous ways. Not sure what kind of information you were looking for, but I hope this helps.

Hi applying for the Adult gerontology program just wanted to know how the application process is for MSN students

[COLOR=#003366]Jannelleh1222, thanks for the info!

How many people are in your FNP cohort?

Also, can you tell me a little about what the schedule has been like for you- how many days a week you are on campus. (I am wondering if it's possible to commute from farther away).

Thanks!

I've just applied to Columbia's MS program as a lateral student for psych nursing for 2015. My application is in but still waiting on one last rec letter to go through, hopefully soon!

My stats were Nursing GPA: 3.6, GRE's V: 620 (89%) Q: 620 (52%) Writing: 4.5 (67%)

I have one year of pedes experience and am planning to focus on child/adolescent in the psych np program.

Anyone else applying directly to Columbia MSN for 2015??

Secajones,

Yep I'm applying to the msn-FNP program. The admission office told me they usually have decisions in March-can't wait to hear!

Just got an email saying applications were forwarded to the Faculty Admission Committee!

Has anyone had a chance to go to an info session or visit?

I'm just looking for more info about the schedule and any tidbits that other people have learned since I'm far away.
