Collin College Spring 2014 Applicants

I just wanted to start a thread for all the Spring 2014 Collin College applicants. I applied last week. I have 15 points, 4.0 gpa, and a 6 on the PSB exam ( missed one point because I didn't take general biology course). I also applied to TWU as well.

Hi, again everyone! Would anyone be interested in starting/joining a group on facebook or some other social media where we can all get updates from one another?

Hi! I think that is a great idea. I don't have anyone's contact details and I keep wishing I had a way to bounce ideas off others in the group. Thanks!

I wish that myself. I think we all need support or just a place to vent. Plus if someone misses something important, we have a place to refer to. Just depending on how many responses I get from this idea, then I can go ahead and start one.

Has anyone received their clearance to get their fingerprints done yet?

I have not. I called last week to ask a question about the dental form and she said they were still working on the fast pass stuff and to just keep looking for the email.

Actually, it just came through! :)

Has anyone purchased a NCLEX review book yet? If so, which one did you go with? Thanks!

Not yet, I'm looking into it. However they did mention at orientation that you'll want to get a 2013 one, because they had changed the test recently or something like that. Though I'd probably check out the ones they have at the school library first.

Has anyone gotten their stethoscope yet? Does anyone know if we need a single or double barrel one?

I looked at Barnes and Noble and I like the way the "Made Incredibly Easy" review book is layed out, but I have no clue what would be best.

I haven't bought my stethoscope yet, but I remember her saying double barreled. I did go to a srcub store and try a couple out. I read about Medisave on here and I think I will order through them when I get ready. The prices seemed good and they have free engraving and shipping.

I have not bought the NCLEX review book yet, but I did download a few free apps on my Kindle that has hundreds of review questions. It's been useful because it helps me get a feel of what the questions are and how to answer them. The do all seem like the correct answer, but of course we would have to know how to choose the BEST one.

As far as the stethoscope, I did do remember them mentioning at the orientation to purchase a double-barrel. I have not bought one yet, but I'll be excited when I do have my own in my hands.

UPDATE on the Fast Pass: I did receive the form Charlene sent via e-mail a couple of days ago.

I looked into Medisave also. It seems a bit less expensive than other places. I really like the free engraving too.

Update: I received a copy of my background check from the DPS. Anyone else receive theirs yet? Do we also have to wait for one from the FBI? Did anyone receive a blue card or a letter from the BON?
