Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all,

i rencently went went to the very shiny and new chamberlain college college opening up in summer lib, nv. I really really really want to join their new ban program. They have a class starting in jan 2015 but all transcripts and testing has to be done by dec 7. I know I don't have enough time so I'm going to try for the May class. I have all pre-req's done except for the Econ and chemistry.

Is there anyone here that will be applying for the brand new school? If so what month? How much will be left out of the 89,000 with all pre-req's done? I'm so excited to start it's been a long time coming and I've been working on my pre-req's since 2010! Glad to be done and one step closer to my dream career,

Hi,

This is my very first post here! I applied and got accepted to Chamberlain. I start January 5th! I am excited! I can try to answer any questions you have!

Hello! I'm looking to apply to the school in the fall. Did you have any transfer credits? If so, how many did they accept from other schools?

They took all of my prerequisites worth the exception of Chem 108 from UNLV.

Do you know about how many credits total? I'm trying to plan to just have one session at chamberlain before starting the actual nursing classes. Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to waste my time and money taking classes if they aren't going to transfer. Good luck by the way!

I am currently attending there. I already have a bachelors in another field, so I had a decent amount of credits to transfer over. Chamberlain took 100% of the credits I thought they should accept-- 30 credits in total. If you are worried about taking classes that don't transfer then get in touch with the staff from Chamberlain and ask them which classes they would accept transfer credits for if you were to take them somewhere else.

Thank you! I have talked with them and gotten the classes that should transfer I just obsess a little bit about it and want to make sure :)

Hello all,

I just recently spoke to an advisor at Chamberlain and and pretty excited of what they offer. For those who were able to transfer credits from UNLV or other institutions, is your time of graduation sooner since you were able to transfer pre-reqs? I'm just afraid that I'll need another 3 years just to get my BSN. I've been so undecisive on which school to go to that I've been taking pre-reqs slowly for about 5 semesters. I just want to graduate already! Lol:woot:

For those of you attending Chamberlain do they require group projects.

Sorry about the late post. I was actually working on a group project :) So yes they do. Not for all classes, but sometimes they are required. I'm in NR222 and it's full of group projects! I love the school though!

Scorpiangoddess, I was wondering if you could go over what your schedule is like? Ive been looking all over and cant find any references. Im planning on starting August 31st with NR101, NR222 and BIOS242. Im trying to keep my job as long as possible and wondering what the school schedule looks like. Thanks in advance and hope all your classes are going well!

We are the inaugural class, so we couldn't take NR 101 and NR 222 together. Only because they didn't offer 222 until this term! Most of my prereqs were done. I am taking NR222 and PSY290 (development) right now. I took NR 299 at UNLV, but it only transferred in as credit for nutrition. I would advise taking as many prereqs as you can elsewhere, as Chamberlain is expensive! You do want to secure a place though. Nursing school here is very competitive as I'm sure you already know. A lot of prereqs can be taken online, but once you get into your nursing classes you're on campus a lot! Next term (May) I will be there from 8:30- 4:30 most days. I picked this school because I love their program! It is a perfect fit for me! Come tour and talk to admissions. I'm sure I'll be there! I'm always there studying if not in class! Chamberlain is worth it!
