Students School Programs

Just trying to help my wife!!! Please help if you can, thank you

My questions are?

If she has a bachelors degree and also almost finished her nursing degree at a Community College what can we do to find out exactly what is necessary to finish?

Any Idea of colleges in the Phoenix-metropolitan are that would be a great help and take the time to figure out what's necessary to move on to her RN?

We feel obviously that she is been given the run around and honestly I truly want to help her! Long story short her father passed last minute and that's why she didn't finish, now being relocated she really wants to finish here rather than pack up and move again,,, it truly feels as if she is getting the run around and were just looking for some excellent advice.

Thank you very much in advance!

It may be easiest for her to finish where she is. Changing schools almost always means having to start the nursing program over. The reason is that while the state BON sets the curriculum to be covered, schools can arrange the curriculum as they choose. And with changing states, that completely changing BON requirements, which may be similar but likely not identical.

I guess I should of stated that we had already made the move, The school she attended was in Cleveland Tn, and the new programs would possibly be in the Phoenix area. What you wrote is exactly what we are running into, she registered at Chamberlain, and they are pretty much making her start over, obviously with all of her school money used up, once for her previous 2 degrees and the rest towards her RN, we are paying out of pocket and starting over seems brutally unfair. Thank you so much for your quick reply.

Check out community colleges here in the Phoenix area. They are a district called Maricopa community colleges. Several of the campuses offer the RN program. She can see what classes would transfer here. Save you some money.

They also have the CEP program that allows you to get your ADN and BSN at the same time. You can find some information at nursing.maricopa.edu
