Calling All Fellow and Experienced Thomas Nelson Applicants 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I am beginning the application process to Thomas Nelson's RN program. I am currently studying for the TEAS V. I am looking for others who are in the same boat as me who want to share anxieties, study tips, any thoughts about the program. Or those who have experience with the program. I would also like to know if there is anyone who has participated in the Dual BSN program through ODU while attending TNCC. Maybe we can help each other along this journey.

Hi Tamara,

I took my TEAS today and scored in the 94th percentile. I hope that means good news is coming my way. How did you do? It wasn't as bad as I was expecting but I was definitely making quite a few educated guesses!

Congratulations and well done!! Unfortunately I did not able to complete the application process and take the TEAS. I needed a reference letter from a BIO teacher in order to submit my application. After trying many tries I could not get my old A&P teacher to follow through. Any I will try again in Sep. While in the meantime I will take Microbio and try to creat rapport with the teacher.

So what study tips and tricks can you share that help you get such a great score?!

I'm so sorry you weren't able to apply this semester. Taking microbiology will help you get more points though so that's a plus for you. Professor Spencer is great. I'm taking her class online (big mistake) but I've heard her on-campus classes are a breeze!

As far as study tips, I don't have many. All in all, I studied for about an hour. The practice test was all I did just to get familiar with the format. There were several questions from anatomy but also some from chemistry and physical science. I made my best educated guesses!

Reading comprehension and grammar are important but not difficult. Just take your time and pay attention to the details. The math wasn't as bad as I expected. Since you can't use a calculator, it's mostly general algebra. I need to brush up on my percentages.

Good luck in microbiology and keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Hey did you get in?!
