Well, I really just need to talk about this - sort of get it out...if anyone has any thing to add - feel free
My half sisters mom was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer a few weeks ago and when she went to the oncologist he said it was stage three...
I guess that she has tumors in her lungs (has had a prolapsed lung), kidneys, and adrenal glands among other places
They were considering operating or doing chemo but they found at least two tumors in her brain - they now are trying to do radiation therapy to stop the swelling
Within two weeks she has become partially paralyzed and is having trouble remembering things....
The doctors arent really saying how much longer it will be, just that the radiation therapy could provide her with a "few more weeks"
I had no idea how fast this could progress...it is such a shock
I guess in a way, I am wondering if anybody here knows what it will be like - in the end
Will she remain "her" or will the brain tumors make her someone else
It's hard to think about...
Do you think that she knows what is going on, or how much because of the tumors?
