Radiation Oncology Interview - what questions to ask?

I have been working on a medical oncology unit for 5 years, and am wanting to move outpatient. I applied for radiation oncology unit position, and have been notified that HR wants to do a phone interview with me. I don't know that I will have a chance to ask any questions, but if I do, I want to be prepared with a few intelligent questions.

One question I have used before is, "What kind of person would you say does well on this unit?" I have noticed that postings for this unit are rare, and I want to ask about that (staff are so satisfied they never leave?)

I would appreciate any suggestions for questions to ask specific to a radiation oncology unit, as I have only seen such a unit once, when I went in with my dad for his treatment.

Thanks!

Hi!

Don't know if it's too late and you already had your phone interview but just in case here are some helpful tips on questions you can ask :

1) How many linear accelerators (radiation machines) are in your clinic?

2) On average, how many daily patients come in to receive treatment?

3) What types of brachytherapy (internal radiation) procedures do you administer? Breast brachytherapy, GYN, prostate, etc?

4) How many radiation oncologists are in the clinic?

5) What is the procedure for nursing assessments for the weekly on treatment visits?

6) Is there a radiation medical assistant?
