Oncology Hospital CCU?

Hello All:

When I graduate, I plan to work in oncology. I've worked in oncology before and am very passionate about it. My question is this. I found out the oncology hospital in the area has a criticual care unit. What would a critical care unit at a cancer hospital be used for? End of life care for patients that have chosen not to use hospice services? Post surgical patients? Thanks ahead of time.

The CCU in an oncology hospital would be used the same as a CCU in a regular hospital, except everyone you will be dealing with has cancer in some form. You will mostly have post surgicals, but also people coming in with medical issues (such things as resp. distress, seizures)...and people to crash and burn in an oncology hospital...so the need for CCU!
