Need some info from fellow nurses

HI about six months ago I came on the this sight and asked for some advise about a abnormal mammo. I am 34 and have a strong family history of female cancers on both sides of my family. My OBGYN has been very carfull about duing ultrasounds of my breast and also pelvic ultrasounds every few years. Six moths ago we decided to go ahead and have a base line mammo. Which showed calcifacations. I was brought back and had compression views, I was then advised to come back in six moths for a recheck. I don't know I just did not fill comfortable doing that so I demanded to see a surgan. He did a exam and looked and my films and he also felt that we should wait six months and recheck the mammo. He really was not that concerend and he and 2 radiologest looked at my films and they all felt the same. So feeling more comfortable and most importantly at peace. I waited and went last week for my follow up. I had a feeling that there was something wrong because they came in and got several differant views, but I did not worry to much. So today I went to see my surgan and he says that I now have a area of microcalcifations that are around 1cc and am have a Brac of 4. So I am being schedudle for a biopsy next week. I have obsurved the procedure so I know what to expect there. But what comes next. I am a single mom of a 16 year old son and I feel that he should be in this from the begining. I want him to be able to understand what is going on and if this is bad be able to ask questions. But I am not sure how to do that. Should he come to the hospital with us. How can I best prepare my son for what ever happens. I feel that this is probley benign, Lord know that I have told alot of patents this same news and it has been fine. But I am terrified. I want to make sure that my son is ok. I know that if this is bad it will hopefully be early and I will be fine. I would like to know sort of what to expect for what happens after the biopsy.Sorry this is so long. Thank you for your support. Please keep us in your prayers.
