University of Oklahoma Family Nurse Practitioner

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

Hello,

Does anyone know anything about the University of Oklahoma Family Nurse Practitioner program?

Is it hard to get accepted?

Is there anything extra that improves your chances of getting in? (Working at OU, CCRN cert.....)

Is it flexible?

I have been all over their website and just wanted to get some information from others who may have been accepted and gone or know somebody who has. I'm new to OK and I'm looking for a NP program.

Any info will be appreciated

Rachel

I received notification of acceptance to the OKC campus for FT! Congrats everyone!!

Did you get an email first or just a letter?

I received an email on 4/15, received my letter on 4/18.

I haven't received one way or the other:| I called today and asked and was told first that they has all gone out and then the lady asked my name and checked and said my letter was one of the last to go out today. She would not tell me yay or nay so I'm still in limbo. I wonder if they sent emails also to those that were alternates or did not get in? And/Or there is any chance I got in. I guess it is not looking good:;

Well, I hope you receive good news in the coming days! I actually was accepted, so maybe I will see you in June! :)

I am confused by the website. Is this an online program or campus only program?

I just found out I got an interview for the summer semester. Do you have any advice?

I just received an email saying I am listed as an alternate for the Summer 2015 FNP program. Anyone heard of someone getting in after being an alternate? I'm still anxious to find out if I end up getting a spot!

... For those wondering about OU, Tulsa. It is not solely online. While many of the classes are online, pharmacology for example is offered once a week to watch in class lecture that is broadcasted from OKC and tests are taken in class. Other classes like Assessment have mandatory attendance... And yes the program is quite competitive. Also, it does appear that they favor their students. Hope this helps.

Im an alternate also. They accepted 37. And those 37 ppl have 10 days to accept. There is no alternate list but rather a pool. They will call alternates to notify of acceptance. I have friends that say being an alternate is practically like getting accepted but im not entirely convinced. They wouldnt say how many alternates there are. Just that there are a "handful".

I called and spoke to admissions. Your right she said there isn't a number assigned to how they pick alternates. She did say there are just a handful of us so that gives me hope!! Also, we could hear something as late as the end of May. Good luck to you! I hope we both get in :)

I also received a letter that I am an alternate for the FT Summer 2015 FNP program. I was wondering if those of you who are also alternates have heard anything yet in regards to your acceptance? Thank you! :)

I got in from the alternate list for this summer.
