OCCC Fall 2013 Hopefuls!!!

Hi guys! Just wondering if anyone knows how many points it takes to get into the nursing program at OCCC. I'm applying for fall with 15-16 points. I'm hoping my chances are good, but I'm not sure how many points it usually takes. Any knowledge on the subject is appreciated. Thanks!

I am DYING! I hate waiting. I applied with 17 points, but I heard the guy in front of me ask them "is 18 points good?" and the guy with admissions was like "um yeah, 18 is good." And that scared the crap out of me! I ended up crying on the phone with my fiance 5 minutes later.. Ugh I just wish I could speed up the process somehow and find out already!

At first the guy told me it would take about 3 weeks, that's what I was told multiple times. But I called yesterday asking when they'll send the first email out that contains out preference points and GPA (they send this before the acceptance or denial letters) and he said it would be 5-6 weeks. Last year it looks like they didn't find out until mid May.. I don't think I can handle waiting that long!! I'm terrified. What points and GPA does everyone have? I applied with my 17 points and a 3.3 GPA but I have seen that at least a few people are applying with like 18 points or more. :/

I applied with 17 points and 3.09 GPA. I have only seen a few posts with lower than mine. I can't believe it will be that long. He told me it would only be a couple of weeks bc of the 1+1 meeting on may 8th. That is so frustrating

Noooooo!!!! 5-6 WEEKS!?! It hasn't even been two, and I can hardly stand it! I hope he was pulling your leg. Maybe he over quotes everyone so people will stop asking him. I had to stop myself from stopping by his office today. I SERIOUSLY hope it's not really 5-6 weeks! Agh!

I sure hope that "he" is telling people 5-6 weeks because he is getting a lot of inquiries. I can only imagine how many calls, visits and emails (from myself included) he must be getting! Last year it was just him tallying all the points and doing all the work. When I applied he told me that this year he has someone helping him (for the first time) and he will be able to get through them much quicker. I hope that hasn't changed! Waiting is torture! I'm glad we have this forum to vent on! :-) Good luck to us all!

Hello. I have applied with 16 points and 3.0 GPA. NOT SURE IT'S enough though ;( I'm working in my math to get two more points in case I don't get in.. I'm not to hopeful at this time after reading so many posts;(

@jesuslover007.. Hello I see you are in the OCCC NP1 now.. Can you give us info on how to prepare ourselves for NP1? What's first semester really like ?

Hello everyone , I called OCCC today and spoke to the "GUY" who tallys the points and sends out the notifications. He said they should be done tallying this Friday and notifications should go out Monday. Those accepted will get receive an email , those not accepted or those accepted into the 1+1 will be notified by mail.. So come Mobday check your email and mailbox daily ;) this semester they were crunched on time because the 1+1 programs orientation is the week of May 6th I believe he said, so everyone has to be notified alot quicker this time.. YAY! Good luck to us all ;)
