OCCC BADNAP Class of 2011

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

Hey,

I was just checking to see who all will be attending the OCCC BADNAP program starting this June. If you are, let me know~:)

I am going to apply, but I'm not sure if my gpa is competitive enough.

I'll be applying for the BADNAP starting June 2011. My GPA is a 3.4. I'm not sure how competitive it will be this year. I heard that all who applied last year were accepted?? This was do to a lot of people being unable to apply at the last minute to do some program acceptance changes.

AS

I am going to apply, but my GPA is only a 3.2, anyone know what all they score on, supposedly OU scores higher for pre-req's taken at OU (so my physiology teacher says) not sure if that is true for OCCC or not

I'm cyrrently in the BADNAP class that graduates March 2011 and yes they accepted everyone that applied because of the changes. 2.65 was the lowest GPA but our instructors told us that normally the cut-off is around 3.3. Also OCCC does not score higher for pre-req's taken here.

What do you mean by cut off at 3.3.??

I have applied with a gpa of 3.27. I took a chance and withdrew from the current program i am in since BADNAP I will graduate faster, also O trip has excellent scores on first time pass rates on the NCLEX. WHen I asked the counselor how many people had applied thus far (this was on Tuesday, Jan. 18th) it was 40-45, and they accept 60. I am so nervous because I am chancing it. My last day to withdraw with full refund is Fri. Jan. 21. and the last day for apps there is the following week on Jan. 28th. If I don't get it, then I have to wait a whole year to go back to the traditional program. Any words of encouragement that anyone has heard?

I am applying this year. My GPA is pretty good, and I heard that they basically rank you by GPA and pick the first 60.

Knicole2000, do you know how many applications where turned in at deadline, Jan 28. Is this something we can call and ask about? I hate the waiting! Did they tell you when letters will be sent out?

Your cumulative gpa is the only ranking they use for selection. We were told in the meeting about the program that this will be changing next year with more requirements added.

A Sanor, I called but have not gotten ahold of anyone. You need to call Mr. Seay in the admissions department. He will tell us how many have applied but not our ranking. When will we hear something? Does anyone know how many people applied?????

My mom is in the current BADNAP class and said that the instructors were told that 89 people applied.

I applied and am antsy to hear back! It will probably be mid-March when they send out the letters. I have a 3.2...my mom says I should be fine, but I'm still nervous. Just for some perspective, besides this past year when everyone was accepted, the AVERAGE gpa for the past years were 2.9, 3.0, and 3.1 (according to the instructors). So hopefully that gives some of you peace of mind. I still get butterflies when I think about it though!

Also, a little insider info, apparently the instructors are trying to talk the admissions dept into letting 72 people be accepted. Also, possibly looking into having two separate sections...one starting like normal in June and then another starting in January. But these are just some ideas they're thinking over, so don't hold me to it! :-p

Hope to see some of you in class this summer! :)
