OCCC BADNAP Class of 2011

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

Hey,

I was just checking to see who all will be attending the OCCC BADNAP program starting this June. If you are, let me know~:)

Wow. I hope this is true. I told my family. Should I try to call to confirm?...... So, hopefully, next thing is books... :)

Spring break for 2011 does not start until March 14th. Did someone mention that they would not mail out until spring break?

BeeDubs,

Do you know if they will be sent before, or after spring break? If the campus is closed, and they are sending them after, then we still have a couple of weeks to wait...

Does anyone know?

They are killing us with the wait. Let's hope its BEFORE spring break! Has anyone called up there?

I just called admissions...the guy I spoke with did not seem to know much. The only info I got was that the letters should be sent by the Wednesday after spring break at the latest, but they could also go out any day now. So...not very useful. Oh, they have not gone out yet though.

Is anyone currently employed and planning to quit if accepted?

I work on call for weekends. If work interferes with school it will go bye-bye. Just have to survive the remaining months. My wife and I discussed this at length. Under no circumstances will work cause any problems with school. End of story. I will work as long as I can.

take care,

Someone please post when they get theirs. Only a matter of days for snail mail.

I'll be sure and post when I get a letter! I'm ready to give my job my notice! Fingers are crossed that I get in!

I figure they will try to get the letters out tomorrow...since next week is spring break. Is anyone willing to call tomorrow afternoon to see if they have been? I called yesterday, and the guy who answered did not seem too thrilled. Who's next?

If I get a letter, I will post asap.

Hey guys!

Tonight was the graduation for BADNAP class of 2011 and I was so proud to see my mom get her nursing pin :) I met the teachers and my mom said they're awesome. She was very stressed out this week with her last two tests, but everyone that made it to NP IV passed, so that was good!

She said I should be getting my letter tomorrow! I have to leave at 9am and won't be home until 1130pm, so will hopefully have a notice waiting in my mail box and can go pick it up on Saturday morning (since it's certified mail).

Oh, and she also said that they actually took everyone with a 2.9 and up.

Orientation will be May 13th, my mom is going to be on the board.

For those of you asking about working, I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I have a full time job right now, but I just graduated from OU in Dec, so I was just hoping for it to be a temporary thing while waiting to hear back if I got into the program.

r1kk1: Most of the clinicals are Sat/Sun at 12 hours a pop, so working might not be feasible for you.

It's a super demanding program...as the new grads were walking across the stage tonight, each had a little blurb they wrote being read, and the majority of them said something to the effect of going a little crazy, and the people closest to them putting up with them and helping to keep them sane, lol. In 2010 I took 58 hours of class to graduate and try and get into this program, but I don't even think that was preparation enough.

Anywho, excited to hear back from everyone!

I did notice some OCCC uniforms on Saturday at the hospital. I kinda figured that. I work in the operating room. My ex manager and I work together and he had some plans for me. Like I said school first. I was excited to be able to help circulate and be scrub assist as they train me. Oh well. Did anyone from BADNAP have a day off? Did it vary week to week? I'm not afraid of intensive programs, just like to maybe plan somewhat what to do with the days off. I will post if I get mine today. I've been in a funk lately and that's not me.

take care,
