ICTC LPN Program

U.S.A. Oklahoma

I will be taking the teas test for the ICTC LPN Prog. in Sallisaw. Anyone else planning on enrolling at ICTC for the 2011 yr ?

I hope that means that it is good. I only have 12 points also. I'm just nervous about all the people that have extra points, but maybe they will look at our scores also and not just base it off of the points. Hopefully we both get that call :) I just hate waiting.... it's the worst part.

Where did you apply at. I applied at Tahlequa.

I took mine again today and I still didn't do so good on the math part. But I did notice that when I printed off my results that they only scored for 30 questions on the math part. There were 34 questions on the test I took. So there are 4 questions that I didn't get scored on and I know I didn't leave any blank. That really bugs me...I think I might call them tomorrow and ask about that.

My math score would be to low to get in. And I don't understand what I am doing wrong..the only thing I think it would be is the time and having to do it all by hand is really time consuming. I rush thru it and I'm not sure I am understanding the word problems either. It's not that I can't do the equations (I got 100 on that part of the math) I just don't understand the questions.

according to the point system I will have 8 pts.

So this will probably not be my year. :(

I will try again next yr and take a remedial math class in the fall. Who knows maybe God will answer my prayers and bless me with a call for an interview.

Tippy did you take yours at Tahlequah today, that is where I took mine. I think all the sections had a few extra questions that weren't scored, so I don't think they were counted against you if you missed those certain ones. The TEAS V study guide talked about the extra questions, I think they said they were in their for their study purposes? To me the math was tricky. When I took the reading portion I felt good about it, but when we came back in from break and took the Math I felt I wasn't getting the questions right. I think it is everything you posted, not enough time, too much writing out long problems, I got frustrated on a few of them. I think I could have eventually figured them out, but I was so worried about the lack of time that I had to just bubble in an answer. I think those who are very good at math had plenty of time, but those like me who are just mediocre, could have used another 10 minutes.

I took mine in Sallisaw...there was a guy there who was taking it for the 2 nd time and he was telling some of us that if they dont have enough to fill the class that they will accept some who score below the minimum score. Is this the first yr they have used the teas test. I know in the past they used the NET. I had been accepted twice to 2 different schools in the past one was for the lpn class the other for the rn. Both times i had drop before i even started due to lack of funds. Since at the time i was single and living by myself. So i didnt qualify for any financial aide and i was working full time and i didnt know about scholarships. I got in to the lpn class on my ACT scores and the RN was the NET. I DONT REMEMBER THE NET BEING AS DIFFICULT AS THIS ONE. At least in the math.

I didnt know about the extra qts, i still want to ask about it tho.

If nothing else i can try for next yr.

I applied to Muskogee.

Tippy-ta-ta, On the first page of the test it was saying that there were practice questions added in the actual test. There were four in each category that weren't counted. I think that is so stupid! Those were probably ones that everyone got right!!! This is the first year they are using the TEAS... I was told that it was because so many people were passing the NET and that with taking this harder test then they won't have so many people to choose from. Did you score above what was required? If you did then I bet you will get in because of the extra points you will get. :)

Tippy, in the packet I have it states that if there is not enough people making over the minimum score that they can take people scoring below the minimum, so he was correct. I believe what 025 is saying about the NET test being easier then this test. On my test scores it showed that the mean in Reading was 63.6, so Im assuming that the average person that took the test was a 63.6, what does your average mean show on Reading and Math?

Do either of you know what happens now that the application deadline has closed? I know you get an interview, but do you know how long I am going to have to sit here and bite my nails, lol... Good luck to all three of us!!!!

From everything that I have read it said that about 2 weeks after the final test date they would be calling for interviews.

My score for the math was 10 pts lower than what is required

But my reading was 78. I have looked around on line comparing different colleges in the US on what scores they accept some schools go by the adjusted overall score as low as 62 and some as high as 70 overall. And some LPN schools dont even require an entrance exam

Tippy what was your math test like. Mine was adding and subtrating numbers, some algebric equations. I know that some people said that had to reconcile a check book and wage questions like x brings home 2300 a week after all these bills how much do they have left, I didn't have any of these. I had a few fractions problems, one Roman Numeral problem. I didn't have any proportion problems. I had a few percent problems...maybe one math test is harder than the other?
